I HAVE CRASH ON YOU This wedding attire collection critiques the dual nature of marriage through a cynical and iconic lens. It’s inspired by wedding events and an anthropological study of wedding fashion throughout history. My collection explores the conflict between our desire for self-fulfillment through marriage, love, and unity, and the aspiration for destruction, reflected in the fascist culture around wedding ceremonies. Interestingly, during times of national crisis, the wedding ceremony icon paradoxically becomes even more popular, especially in fashion. In “I HAVE CRASH oN YOU,” I convey the emotional detachment of modern society from reality and examine our generation's ability to exist in times of crisis. The collection draws inspiration from extravagant wedding culture and military aesthetics, re-examining familiar wedding attire to see if armor can be glamorous. I used a molding technique with water and leather to imitate industrial and military materials through natural textiles, creating sculptural silhouettes that dictate the shape to the human body. The color palette is monochromatic, as faded memory of once vibrant colors.
